Who are we?

Who Are We?
Our Founder, Bishop Giaquinta

ProSanctity is a world-wide movement of people, based on Catholic teachings, who seek holiness in everyday life.

We find our mission firmly grounded in scripture:
"As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; since it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy'."  [RSV] 1 Peter 1: 14-16

This movement of people, began very humbly in the aftermath of World War II when the youth of Italy sought more to life than war, money, and power. These young people sought spirituality in an atmosphere of care and friendship. A young priest, Father Giaquinta, responded to their needs.

Today, the legacy of Father Giaquinta, guides us in the responding to your needs. We believe that in today's fast-paced world, it is important to help all people find a sense of peace, community, and support in developing a spiritual life.

Who Are We Home       Apostolic Oblates       Apostolic Sodales       Social Animators

(In the words of member, Greg Gaddie, Omaha NE)

The Pro Sanctity Movement is an international organization whose primary focus is the spread of God's Universal Call to Holiness; Holiness in all peoples, all walks of life, all stages of life, all ages from seven to seven hundred, through the entire life of each person and carrying through to eternal life by the Grace of God made possible by the merits won by His Divine Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, guided by His Holy Spirit.

The movement, its leaders and members, have a special recognition and reliance on their patronness, the Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Trust. Just as Jesus Christ placed Himself in the care of Our Blessed Lady, and of whom God declared, through Elizabeth, that all ages would call blessed (Lk 1:41-55), so they, too, turn to the Woman whom God the Father created and chose to bear and raise His Son with the help of His Holy Spirit.

The movement, along with its general membership, includes groups of dedicated men and women with special charisms.

The Apostolic Sodales are priests who support the movement with prayer and with the gift of their time especially in the celebration of Mass, liturgies and retreats.

The Apostolic Oblates are a group of lay, consecrated single women who give their lives in service to God. They are sometimes compared to missionaries. They go where they are sent. They go to serve the people they find themselevs with, using the talents and skills God has given them.

The Cooperatives are a group of lay women, both married and single, who believe in the purpose of the movement, and who in turn commit a significant portion of their time and talents in giving back to God in the spread of the Call to Holiness.

The Social Animators are a group of lay men, both married and single, who, similarly to the Cooperatives, use their God-given gifts and skills in serving all with hope and charity.

All of the men and women mentioned above, also continually strive to deepen their faith by the study of Sacred Scriptures and the Spirituality of the Pro Sanctity Movement. All for the Greater Glory of God!

Pro Sanctity Creed

I believe in you, Father, God of Love, whose love for us is infinite and who asks of us, in turn, a response of total love.

I thank you for your Son, Jesus Christ, eternal Word made flesh, and our brother, who with his life-death-resurrection has actually made us new human beings.

Give us the Spirit of love that He may guide us in the living-out of your message, form in us the image of your Son, and grant us the courage to extend to all, your invitation to holiness.

May the Holy Church, Bride of the Lamb and our Mother, be for us a living source of transforming grace which we abundantly draw from the sacraments given to us by the Apostles, your ministers. Grant that in her we may persue our call to holiness and become light for all people.

Let your Word be for us and for all an invitation to bring about your universal plan of love, to form new families in a new world, where all shall live as brothers and sisters in Christ.

May Mary, your Mother and ours, assist us. May your Saints, our models, who have gone before us on the path of love be our companions. Amen.
